Benefits of joining this AoG contract
Joining an All of Government contract is likely to save a school both time and money, while also reducing risk.
Learn more about All of Government contracts.
Some schools may currently be using banking services with a bank who is a part of the AoG contract. These schools still stand to gain from switching from their standard contract to the AoG contract, with the same bank.
The AoG banking services contract offers the following benefits to schools.
- Better value for banking services than what is available to the public.
- Transparent contract terms and costs, so that schools are fully informed.
- Flexible service models, so that schools can tailor their banking services to meet their needs. Schools can request any one or combination of:
- payment services (such as the ability to accept card payments as a merchant)
- card services (such as the provision of school credit cards)
- foreign exchange services (such as international transfers).
How to join the AoG banking services contract
The process for joining the banking services contract is similar to that for other AoG contracts.
Step | Action |
---|---|
1 |
Before you begin
If your school hasn’t signed up to an AoG contract before, you will need to complete a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) available on the New Zealand Government Procurement (NZGP) website(external link).
|
2 |
Read about the contract and the memorandum of understanding (MoU)
Log in to the New Zealand Government Procurement website(external link) to access more information on the contract. You will need to be using your school-linked RealMe account, as you will gain access to commercially sensitive information.
Learn more about linking a RealMe account to a school.
Read the MoU for the banking services contract in the ‘Contract documents’ section on the New Zealand Government Procurement webpage. The MoU sets out the obligations of the schools participating in the contract.
|
3 |
Complete a Letter of Accession (LoA)
Request a Letter of Accession for the contract by emailing procurement@mbie.govt.nz.
Completing the LoA confirms that your school agrees to the terms set out in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Your completed LoA must then be emailed to procurement@mbie.govt.nz.
Once the LoA is processed, you will receive a confirmation email, along with a selection of templates for use during Step 7.
|
4 |
Determine your requirements
Which banking services do you currently use?
Do you want/expect to do any of the above in the future?
See the categories of banking services that can be supplied under the AoG contract to learn about the scope of the AoG contract.
Select which service categories you require. This could be one, two, or all three categories.
|
5 |
Compare suppliers
Your school can purchase banking services from any or all the suppliers for each of the service categories that you require.
See the list of AoG suppliers and the services that they offer.
NZGP’s pricing comparison tool will help you to compare each supplier’s offering. It is found at the bottom of the page below (when logged in using a school-linked RealMe).

Also find and compare each supplier’s profile and service agreement, which can be accessed through the page below (when logged in using a school-linked RealMe).

Suppliers might offer special bundled pricing if selecting them for more than one service category. If so, this will be stated in their service agreement.
|
6 |
Engage with suppliers
Contact your shortlisted suppliers or preferred supplier to discuss their offering and what your responsibilities would be under the AoG contract.
|
7 |
Complete services order(s)
When your school has selected a supplier for a service category, you will provide that supplier with your completed services order for that category.
Services order templates are emailed to schools by NZGP when a Letter of Accession for the AoG contract is processed, as explained in Step 3.
|
8 |
Delivery of banking services
Supplier(s) will support you with the transition to their service.
Your school can begin banking with your chosen supplier(s).
