The Construction Directory is a national panel of suppliers by region, value band, project type and delivery method for construction projects over $500,000 (capital works). This directory is available for use by Ministry led projects only. All projects will be tendered to Directory suppliers in the first instance.
Joining the Construction Directory
The Ministry refreshes the Directory on at least an annual basis.
If you would like to know more about joining the Construction Directory, email EIS.Commercial@education.govt.nz.
Christchurch Schools Rebuild (CSR) projects
CSR projects are excluded from the Construction Directory, as these will continue to be delivered through established construction panels. For more information, see Christchurch Schools Rebuild (CSR) procurement.
The Ministry of Education is one of over 130 government agencies that are required by the Government Procurement Rules to use the All-of-Government construction consultancy services panel.
The AoG CCS gives us access to a panel that is specifically set up for the consultancy services we need for our construction projects.
If you aren’t already on the AoG CCS panel as a provider, joining is easy and allows you to offer your services to a wide range of government agencies.
For more information on joining the panel see the New Zealand Government Procurement website.
The Ministry has a specialised sub-panel of the AoG CCS panel called the Professional Services Directory. All suppliers on the Professional Services Directory are required to also be members of the AoG CCS panel.
The Professional Services Directory currently covers Quantity Surveying services and Master Planning & Lead Design services. Over time we will add further consultancy services, including Project Management.
Like our Construction Directory, the Professional Services Directory will be refreshed for new suppliers to join and existing suppliers to amend their appointment. The Ministry will endeavour to release an open Notice of Intent on the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS) prior to any refresh.
If you would like to know more about joining the Professional Services Directory, email EIS.Commercial@education.govt.nz.
The 10YPP Consultants Panel is a list of trained consultants who are responsible for preparing 10-year property plans for schools. For more information about the 10YPP process and consultant engagement, see Preparing a 10YPP.
The Ministry is transitioning the contractual relationship of 10YPP Consultants from schools to the Ministry. For more information, see Ministry Engaged 10YPP Consultants.
Becoming a 10YPP Consultant
To become a 10YPP Consultant, you must complete mandatory Ministry training courses. For more information, see Engagement of a 10YPP consultant.
If you have any questions, email EIS.Commercial@education .govt.nz.
The Project Management Panel is a national panel of suppliers covering regions and value bands for major and minor projects. The panel is available for use by schools who are looking for project management services. This panel is currently closed for new suppliers.
If you have any questions, email EIS.Commercial@education.govt.nz.
For information on how Project Managers are engaged through the Panel, see Project manager engagement for school property projects.
The ICT Contractors Panel is a list of ICT Contractors approved by the Ministry of Education to work on the following school projects:
- installing structured cabling
- supplying structured cabling product
- integrating wireless services.
A forward pipeline of capital works projects is available for suppliers to view and prepare for upcoming tender opportunities.
Open tenders for school property projects are advertised on the Government Electronic Tender Service (GETS). The purpose of the site is to promote open, fair competition for New Zealand Government contract opportunities.
