It is stated in the terms of a specialist school principal’s employment agreement that they are entitled to the Special School Principals’ Allowance.

About the allowance

If you're a principal of a special residential or non-residential school, you're entitled to an allowance as set out in clause 6.2.9 of the Primary Principals’ Collective Agreement.

Clause 6.2.9 - Primary Principals' Collective Agreement

Eligible residential schools

The allowance is $3,000 per annum for principals of the following residential schools:

  • Halswell
  • BLENNZ
  • van Asch
  • Salisbury
  • Kelston
  • Westbridge.

Eligible non-residential schools

The allowance is $2,000 per annum for principals of the following non-residential special schools.
