Privacy statement for students

This privacy statement applies to your personal and other information collected through the DI4OL service.

Our privacy policy is governed by the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

Keeping your personal information secure

We collect some personal information directly from you. We also receive information about you from your school (or other education provider).

We will use your personal information to authorise your access of applications for your online learning. We will share your information with digital services that use DI4OL to allow you to access online learning applications and services.

All personal information remains stored in the school’s IT system (onsite or online). The very limited information shared by a school with the Ministry for DI4OL is stored in the Ministry’s Azure service in Australia.

Any personal information you supply will only be used by the Ministry and the third-party service providers who support the DI4OL service as permitted by the Privacy Act 2020.

Your personal information will not be disclosed to any third party except as authorised under the Privacy Act 2020 or other Act of Parliament.

Viewing and correcting of personal information

You have the right to access your personal information which we hold. You also have the right to request the correction of personal information held about you if you think it is wrong.

You can see and change your personal email address(es) that are linked to DI4OL by going to the linking page on MyAko.

But, you cannot change some information through the DI4OL linking portal such as your official name, date of birth, or National Student Number (NSN). If you need to make changes to these, please contact the Ministry’s Privacy Officer at:
