Who's covered by the individual employment agreement (IEA)

You need to sign an individual employment agreement (IEA) if:

  • your work is covered by this agreement, but
  • you're not a member of the NZEI Te Riu Roa.

The terms and conditions of employment of the IEA are similar to those of the Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu Early Childhood Teachers' Collective Agreement, with all the necessary modifications applicable to an IEA for this group of employees.

Your IEA will be Ministry promulgated, which means the Ministry of Education develops and approves the IEA. 

The effective date for this IEA is from the date of signing, which can be no earlier than the date of promulgation, 6 December 2023.
