How to join the SchoolDNS service
This information is for school IT leads or school IT providers who want to join the SchoolDNS service.
How to join the SchoolDNS service
Email Liverton Security letting them know you’d like to join the service. They’ll get back to you, ask for some information, and help you through the process.
Liverton Security will ask for:
- the authorisation code, sometimes known as EPP number or UDAI
- your zone records, files or name servers
- contact details for the Domain Name Commission website (if different from current)
- contact details for the user to be set up in the SchoolDNS portal
Authorisation code
The authorisation code, sometimes known as the EPP number or UDAI, is an 8-digit case sensitive password. This domain password is to protect against other people attempting to transfer it to their system. You can get yours from your existing provider.
Zone records
These are the files or records that tell the system where to send internet traffic to once someone types your domain name into a browser. You get these from your current provider.
Your provider
If you’re not sure who your current provider is, look up your domain name on the Domain Name Commission website(external link)
