International Student Wellbeing Strategy

The International Student Wellbeing Strategy, released in June 2017, sets out focus areas for government agencies that are working to support international students. Apply for funding for initiatives to improve student wellbeing.

About our strategy

The International Student Wellbeing Strategy is designed to protect and enhance New Zealand’s reputation as a safe and welcoming study destination, by building on the work agencies already have underway.

These focus areas are based on consultation with international students, about what would make the biggest difference to their experience in New Zealand. They are:

  • Economic wellbeing
  • Education
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Inclusion.
