Kitchen and cooking facilities or appliances are designed, located or fitted with safety devices to ensure that children cannot access them without adult assistance or supervision.

How to show you are complying#
You need to make sure that children cannot access kitchen and cooking facilities or appliances without the assistance of an adult.
There are several ways you can do this:
- create a separate space
- close kitchen or cooking facilities off with a full or half door that can be child locked
- fit all appliances with safety devices.
Children can still be involved in cooking and food preparation activities, as long as an adult is present to guide and ensure safety.
