Identify specific needs#

Consult with key stakeholders to understand all needs. Stakeholders could include:

  • teachers
  • school board members
  • the regional property team
  • other frequent users of the property.

If you know of schools that have done similar projects, ask them about their experiences.

Write down the requirements#

This is the information you will provide to potential suppliers in your tender documents.

You must consider:

  • the overall outcome the procurement needs to achieve
  • the goods, services or contract works that need to be delivered or undertaken
  • the skills and expertise the supplier requires
  • the resources and availability the supplier will need to meet your expected timeframes
  • how the supplier should break down their prices when they provide pricing information
  • the type of contract you will use and key contract terms and conditions.
