Well balanced meals#
Well balanced menus should include a variety of:
- protein foods across the week (for example, not chicken every day)
- vegetables (a balance of cooked vegetables and salads)
- grain foods and starchy vegetables (for example breads, rice, pasta, potato and kūmara)
- cuisine that is familiar, well-known classics like mac n cheese, butter chicken, meatball spaghetti and lasagne are popular choices with students.
