Well balanced meals#

Well balanced menus should include a variety of:

  • protein foods across the week (for example, not chicken every day)
  • vegetables (a balance of cooked vegetables and salads)
  • grain foods and starchy vegetables (for example breads, rice, pasta, potato and kūmara)
  • cuisine that is familiar, well-known classics like mac n cheese, butter chicken, meatball spaghetti and lasagna are popular choices with students.

A menu grid template is available to fill in and submit your termly menu.

Submit your menu and the accompanying recipes, including with any recipe variations, each term by email.
