Building back better#
Once completed, greater Christchurch will have one of the most enhanced school networks in New Zealand. It has been designed to meet the changing needs of teaching and learning well into the future. We are incorporating standards that exceed the New Zealand Building Code in key areas. We also ensure cost-effective, repeatable designs that meet strict structural and geotechnical requirements.

Use of former sites#
During the programme some sites have become vacant. These will either be retained for future educational use or sold (put into disposal). The following table shows current site use. All properties in disposal go through a series of steps under the Public Works Act 1981.
