Discovery phase#

The Ministerial Advisory Group (MAG) has completed its discovery phase, hearing people’s experiences and views on the challenges and opportunities in the early childhood education (ECE) funding system. Members thank everyone who has contributed.

More than 2,000 perspectives shared from across the mōtu have provided many and varied insights to inform our work.

Hui have now concluded, 56 in total both online and in person from Whangarei to Dunedin. A list of engagements and the engagement presentation are available here:

Next steps – consultation#

MAG members are now considering what they have heard and learned. They are developing indicative options to be shared during a consultation later in the year, when the MAG will again seek people’s views on the future of the ECE funding system.
