Vote Education#
The Budget 2025 education package totals $2.5 billion over the next 4 years. This year’s investments are focused on transforming learning supports to lift student achievement and attendance. The Budget builds on work already underway to deliver on the 6 education priorities and the Māori Education Action Plan.
This is the largest investment into learning support in a generation.
The funding includes $613.5 million reprioritised funding within Vote Education that is being reinvested into priority education initiatives in Budget 2025.

Vote Tertiary#
The Budget 2025 package provides $398 million in operating funding over the next four years for tertiary education. This year’s investments will help tertiary education and training providers sustain the quality of provision and invest in priority areas that will support economic growth.
Budget 2025 also includes funding to support changes to the vocational education and training system during the transition to a redesigned system.
