Schools and kura will start using some of the new curriculum next year. Wherever you live in Aotearoa your mokopuna will be taught the same knowledge. Kura, tumuaki and kaiako have been doing a lot of work behind the scenes to learn about the new curriculum and start teaching it from next year.

The release of the remaining Tau 0–10 Te Marautanga o Aotearoa content today represents years of dedication to creating a curriculum that strengthens identity, language and learning. Through clear, knowledge-rich pathways grounded in te reo Māori, mātauranga Māori and te ao Māori, mokopuna will be better supported to succeed at kura. This is a legacy that will support generations of mokopuna to realise their potential and pursue the futures they choose.

This is an exciting moment for mokopuna and a moment to celebrate for everyone who has contributed to this work.  

As the national curriculum for those learning through te reo Māori, it reflects the aspirations of Māori communities and helps ensure mokopuna are equipped for future pathways in education, employment and life.
