At Ōtūmoetai Playcentre, a new mural has sparked inspiration and enthusiasm for tamariki, from storytelling to artistic expression through their own colourful brushstrokes.
Next door at Ōtūmoetai College, ākonga are preparing to enter short story competition Te Pae Tawhiti, which encourages young voices to be heard through the art of writing. In Whakatāne, Trident High School students have also discovered the joy and influence of the written word as part of their contribution to a series of online animations.
That digital world comes with fast-paced change and challenges. Auckland teacher Susana Tomaz has taken a deep dive into the responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) in learning to answer the burning question of how AI literacy can be built in kaimahi and ākonga quickly and effectively.
