Overview#
The enrolment scheme for Whenuapai School was amended in 2023 to include a zone around the Massey Redhills area as an interim solution for this area while the new school was being completed. This area has been noted as zone B on the enrolment scheme for Whenuapai School.
From the beginning of 2027, the amended area (Zone B) of the Whenuapai School enrolment zone will be removed. This change will establish a dedicated catchment for the new school, and local students will be expected to enrol at Te Pae School.
There are no changes proposed to the enrolment scheme of Massey Primary School.
The purpose of an enrolment scheme of a state school is to:
- to avoid overcrowding, or the likelihood of overcrowding, at the school; and
- to ensure that the selection of applicants for enrolment at the school is carried out in a fair and transparent manner; and
- to enable the Secretary to make the best use of existing networks of state schools.
