Principal obligations when the suspension is lifted without conditions#

The student returns to school immediately and attends full time.

'Principal' includes someone who is formally delegated in writing by the board to act as the principal in your absence. Such delegation can only take effect when the principal is not on duty.

Important

  • The student must return to school on the first day following the board decision.
  • The board cannot set another date for the student to return to school.

You must immediately:

  • tell a parent
  • tell the Ministry of Education.

Principal and board obligations when the suspension is lifted without conditions#

Tell a parent#

You must tell the student’s parent that the suspension has been lifted without conditions and the reasons for the board decision. (Unless the student has turned 20.)

To help you do this, you may wish to use the model letter template 3, 'Notifying parent/s or caregivers of outcome of suspension meeting'.

You may also consider calling a parent.

Tell the Ministry of Education#

You must submit the “advice of outcome of suspension meeting” electronic form in ENROL.
