Regulatory work underway and transfer to ERO#
ECE licensing, certification and associated functions will be delivered by Education Review Office (ERO) from 1 September.
If you have an active application or another matter underway, we aim to complete these before the transfer (where possible). On 1 September, work underway and all relevant information will be transferred to ERO.
You do not need to take any action now. If you need to do anything later, ERO will contact you.

School and ECE Immunisation Hub available#
Health New Zealand has launched the new School and ECE Immunisation Hub to help you prepare for potential measles outbreaks.
You will be able to access the new School and ECE Immunisation Hub to support measles outbreak planning and outbreak preparedness.
It will provide de-identified measles immunisation coverage data for tamariki, helping you understand your ECE community's coverage and plan to minimise learning disruption in an outbreak.
It is supported by local National Public Health Service teams.

During an outbreak, tamariki and staff who are not immune may need to stay away from ECEs.

We have developed an online resource for early learning kaiako to build understanding of phonemic awareness and help integrate it into a play-based curriculum, supporting the transition to school and kura.
