Automated funding for internal model schools and kura#
Most internal model schools and kura receive their funding via automated a funding process. Automated funding calculates and automates payments directly to the school and kura before the start of a new term.
Funding is paid through Pourato and you will receive a remittance in Pourato confirming the payment.

Online end of term financial reporting#
Internal model schools and kura on automated funding submit online end of term financial reports each term via a Ka Ora, Ka Ako | Healthy School Lunches portal in the Education Sector Login (ESL).
You can download some step-by-step instructions that explain how to login to ESL, access the portal and complete the end of term financial reports online.
We also provide an optional 2026 workbook to support you when working through your expenses throughout the term, prior to completing your end of term financial report online.
This optional workbook includes:
- a cashbook for tracking expenses
- calculator tools for excluding GST and calculating power bills
- end of term financial report templates.

Cashbook and calculator tools to assist you#
Tab 1 provides instructions on how to use these tools.
Calculators#
Tab 2 of this workbook has two calculator tools, one to support in excluding GST from expenses and another to help calculate any power bill expenses from your lunch programme.
Cashbook#
Tab 3 of the workbook includes a cashbook tool. All your expenditure can be added to the cashbook tool and it will auto populate the relevant end of term financial report. You can use it throughout the terms to keep tabs on your expenditure.

Submitting end of term financial reporting is a requirement each school and kura agreed to within your funding agreement with us.
