What's in a regulatory impact statement (RIS)#
A regulatory impact statement provides:
- a high-level summary of the problem being addressed
- the options and their associated costs and benefits
- the consultation undertaken
- the proposed arrangements for implementation and review.
When and where we publish RISs#
We publish RISs:
- when the relevant Bill is introduced to Parliament, or
- when the regulation is gazetted, or
- at the time of ministerial release.
