We recommend that school boards:
- use our contracted emergency response coordinators (ERCs) when needed
- keep this contact list at hand for use in an emergency.
This service is only provided for state schools because the Ministry of Education owns state school sites.
Private and state-integrated schools can contact an ERC directly, but any work would be contracted between these parties.
What emergency response coordinators do#
ERCs work with the school and the Ministry to coordinate a response effort with emergency services.
An ERC:
- inspects damage
- arranges work for to be done to make the site safe and get the school functioning as quickly as possible.
