The new subjects will complement existing academic subjects such as English and mathematics. Students will be able to combine industry-led subjects with academic subjects to create pathways that suit their interests, strengths, and aspirations.
Together, they will provide a diverse range of exciting and relevant subjects for students to choose from.
The 9 industry-led subjects are:
- Applied Intelligent Systems
- Construction and Built Environment
- Energy and Infrastructure
- Engineering Technology
- Food and Fibre Systems
- Health Services and Care
- Hospitality Food and Beverage
- Next-Gen Manufacturing
- Tourism.
These subjects reflect some of the key sectors of Aotearoa New Zealand’s economy and are linked to real workforce opportunities.
