The information includes the expansion of the Early Intervention Service (EIS) and the introduction of in-school Learning Support Coordinators (LSCs).

The resources are available in:

  • New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL)
  • Braille
  • audio
  • large print
  • Easy Read.

They are also translated into te reo Māori and 5 Pacific languages:

  • Gagana Samoa.
  • Te Reo Māori Kūki ʻAirani.
  • Vagahau Niue.
  • Lea Faka Tonga.
  • Gagana Tokelau.

The resources explain how EIS supports children with additional developmental, communication or behavioural needs. EIS now extends from birth to the end of Year 1 at school.

They also explain how LSCs support students to get the right help earlier and make it easier for families to understand and access learning support at school.

The resources are designed to:

  • help parents understand what these learning support changes mean for their child
  • explain how these learning supports work
  • find out how to access the right support when it is needed.
