Purpose of this consultation#

We are working with Queen Elizabeth College Board to develop an enrolment scheme for Queen Elizabeth College.

We are consulting with whānau, hāpu, iwi and all people living in the area where the college is a reasonably convenient school.

The proposed scheme would become effective for enrolments from Term 1 2027.

We invite you to review the proposed enrolment scheme and submit your feedback.

About enrolment schemes#

The purpose of an enrolment scheme of a state school is to:

  • avoid overcrowding or the likelihood of overcrowding at the school
  • to make sure the selection of applicants for enrolment at the school is done in a fair and transparent manner
  • to enable the Secretary of Education to make the best use of existing networks of state schools.

What this means for people living in the area#

This enrolment scheme could affect which school a student will be entitled to enrol in.
