Overview#

The Hillmorton High School home zone written descriptions and maps need to be updated to clarify the inclusion of new residential developments off Sparks Road and Cashmere Road along the boundary of the Years 7–8 home zone, as well as development on Sabys Road and Kennedys Bush Road within the Years 9 to 13+ home zone.

This minor amendment is therefore required to update the written description and map for the Years 7–8 and Years 9 to 13+ home zones to clarify boundaries and to identify more accurately which addresses should be considered in-zone. The enrolment scheme wording will also be updated to reflect the Education and Training Act 2020.

The proposed commencement date of this minor amendment is 6 October 2025.

The enrolment of out-of-zone students is governed by the provisions of the Education and Training Act 2020.

What happens next#

Following the notification period, we will consider any comments received and process this minor amendment to ensure it meets the requirements of the Education and Training Act 2020. If we are satisfied that the enrolment scheme meets these requirements, the enrolment scheme will be finalised and provided to the school board to implement.
