Overview#
As part of regular monitoring, we have identified that the enrolment scheme for Hamilton West School needs amending.
We are proposing an amended enrolment scheme to reduce the size of the school's enrolment zone because of overcrowding. The affected area is an overlap or shared area with Melville Primary or Deanwell Primary School.
The focus is on making sure that every student has a reasonably convenient school that they can attend. Safety of students and teachers is our priority.
Any student currently enrolled at Hamilton West School will not be impacted by this proposed change to the enrolment scheme.

What these changes mean for your family#
If you live in the enrolment scheme zone area for Hamilton West School, you will be entitled to enrol your child at the school.
- Proof of residence within the home zone will be required.
- The enrolment remains in place for the length of your child’s primary education or until you choose other schooling.
Families who live outside of the amended enrolment scheme home zone of Hamilton West School will not have entitlement to enrol and can only attend if the school board enrols out-of-zone students through an official ballot process.
