Purpose of this consultation#
Due to increasing enrolments, Bainesse School is at risk of overcrowding. We are working with the school's board to develop an enrolment scheme.
We want feedback on the proposed enrolment scheme to help inform our final decision. Review the draft map and description before giving your feedback.
About enrolment schemes#
Enrolment schemes help school boards manage enrolments and make sure children who live in the home zone can attend the school.
Enrolment schemes:
- help the board manage the risk of overcrowding
- provide a fair and transparent enrolment process
- make the best use of schooling facilities across the local school network.
What is changing#
A key part of an enrolment scheme is the home zone. Home zones set out a geographic area, and only the students living in this area would have the right to enrol at the school.
We are proposing a home zone for Bainesse School. See the map and written description below.
The enrolment scheme is proposed to commence on 1 January 2027, meaning it will be applied to those applying to start at the school from 2027 onwards.
Any student who is already enrolled at Bainesse School before the enrolment scheme begins is entitled to stay at the school.

We will consider all feedback before making a final decision. We expect to update the school community by 2 November 2026.
