Overview#

Andersons Bay School has had an enrolment scheme in place since 2015. As part of recent monitoring, it was discovered that Karetai Road and Highcliff Road were not included in the home zone of any primary school.

Under the Education and Training Act 2020, enrolment schemes must be designed so there are no gaps between home zones. To address the current gap between enrolment scheme home zones, it is proposed Karetai and Highcliff Roads are added to the Andersons Bay School home zone. This update makes sure all families in the area are eligible for enrolment under the enrolment scheme for Andersons Bay School.

A minor amendment is required to clarify the home zone boundary of Andersons Bay School, both written and drawn. The written description has been updated to clarify the boundaries. It also fulfils the requirements of the Education and Training Act 2020 which governs the enrolment of out-of-zone students.

The proposed commencement date of the minor amendment is 26 January 2026 (Term 1).

What happens next#

At the end of the notification period, we will read any comments and process everything to make sure it meets the requirements of the Education and Training Act 2020.

If we are satisfied that the enrolment scheme meets these requirements, it will be finalised and provided to the school board.
