Pay equity for former employees
Former employees who finished employment on or after 1 September 2022 were paid on 18 October 2022 in the same way as current employees.
Employees who worked in schools or kura who did not use Education Payroll will need to contact their school or kura to arrange payment.
Community Education coordinator assistants and non-teaching coordinators#
Community Education coordinator assistants and non-teaching coordinators covered by the Community Education Collective Agreement (CECA) or an equivalent individual employment agreement (IEA) are now included in the Administration Support Staff in Schools’ Pay Equity Claim (APEC) settlement.
If you were employed in one of these roles on or before 20 August 2021 and left your position before 26 November 2025, you may be eligible for a pay equity payment. If you left after 26 November and were not on the CECA or new IEA, you may be eligible for a pay equity payment.
An application form will be available in mid-March 2026.
If you left after 26 November and before 31 January 2026 and were covered by the CECA or have signed the new IEA (2025-2028) you will be processed by EPL as if you are a current employee. You do not need to do anything.
If you have any questions about the former employee process, please contact Ohumahi Support.
