Secondary schools listed in the Education (School Staffing) Order schedule who employ full-time, permanently appointed, itinerant music teachers get this allowance.

Education (School Staffing) Order – New Zealand Legislation

These schools receive an itinerant music teacher allowance in full time teacher equivalent (FTTE) of:

• 0.1, if 1 teacher is attached
• 0.2, if 2 teachers are attached
• 0.3, if 3 or 4 teachers are attached
• 0.4, if more than 4 teachers are attached.
