How the allowance is allocated

Allowances were allocated to all kindergarten associations on a permanent basis from January 2024. They were distributed to teachers through an application process run by the associations.

In large associations that have 5 or more allowances, 1 allowance can be split between 2 teachers if the employer agrees.

Who is eligible

The cultural leadership allowance is available to teachers covered by the relevant collective agreement or IEA.

They must demonstrate the cultural expertise and leadership skills described in the guidance below.
