2. Remuneration

The parties agree that the Unified Base Salary Scale for Trained Teachers will be renewed for the term of the agreement and will provide three increases: 6% effective from 3 July 2023, followed by 4% on 3 April 2024, 3.9% from 2 December 2024 to each step of the UBSS.

Additionally, from 3 July 2023, steps 1 and 2 of the UBSS are merged with a new minimum rate of $56,757 as shown below:

Sick Leave Translation

Translation

Translation from a teacher’s current table-based entitlement to the proposed allocation shall occur on 28 January 2024. Translation will be based on the years of service accrued under the teacher’s current table-based entitlement and the corresponding allocation for the accrued years of service, less sick leave taken, but no teacher shall be allocated a sick leave balance of less than 10 days.

6.2.1 Sick Leave Entitlement

Until 27 January 2024 a teacher is entitled to sick leave on pay on account of sickness or injury as follows:

5.3 Timetabled Contact and Non-Contact Time

4.4 Payment of Salaries

Examples:
A 0.6 FTTE teacher works an average of 24 hours per week (see clause 5.3.4B), 15 of which are timetabled (made up of 12 hours class-contact and 3 hours non-contact time).  If they are on new step 1 ($103,086 from 2 Dec 2024) they will be paid about $2,372 gross per fortnight.

1.9 Additional Payments

4.25 Pacific Bilingual Immersion Teaching Allowance

4.26 Community Liaison Roles - trial

4.26.1 From 28 January 2024 to 27 January 2026, 335 Community Liaison roles will be available in accordance with the terms of the Community Liaison trial agreement to be agreed between the parties.

4.26.2 Each holder of a Community Liaison role will be entitled to a time allowance of 0.04 FTTE and a salary payment of $1,000 per annum.
