Emergency Response Coordinators

Find the contact information for the Ministry’s Emergency Response Coordinators (ERC) who are available 24/7 to respond to property related damage as the result of a disaster such as fire, flood and extreme weather. This service is provided for State (Non-Integrated) School Sites only as the Ministry of Education is the owner of these sites. Private and integrated schools are free to directly engage the services of the ERCs themselves but the contracting arrangement would be between these parties.

It is recommended that boards use our contracted Emergency Response Coordinators when needed, and that these contacts be readily available for use in the case of an emergency.

Overview

The ERC will work with the school and the Ministry to coordinate the response effort with the relevant emergency services (Fire Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) or Police). The ERC will inspect the damage and arrange any urgent work to be done in order to make the site safe and get the school functioning as quickly as possible.
