A new remuneration system has been in place for school support staff since 29 June 2015.
About the changes
The new pay scale and associated changes were agreed as part of the 2014 settlement of the Support Staff in Schools’ Collective Agreement 2014-2016 (SSSCA).
The text of the SSSCA has also been reformatted to make it more user-friendly, as was also agreed as part of the same settlement.
Best practice guidance for boards of trustees and principals on these changes has been jointly prepared by NZEI Te Riu Roa, the New Zealand School Trustees Association, and the Ministry of Education.
