The New Zealand Education Profile

The New Zealand Education Profile provides key statistics from early childhood education (ECE) through to 18 years of age.

By looking at the profile we can see the progress being made against important measures. These are:

  • participation in ECE
  • information about our children’s achievement and progress via National Standards and Ngā Whanaketanga Rumaki Māori, and
  • how many students are gaining key NCEA qualifications by the time they leave school, at a national level.

The pipeline also shows where there are issues of inequity in terms of the achievement of different groups of students, and therefore what improvements are needed across the education system.
