Schools to hold local vocational careers and pathway events

The events will be held across the schooling period between term 1 2020 and term 2 of 2021.

A funding round was established in 2019 for kura, state and state-integrated schools, and kāhui ako to run vocational education events. This funding is part of a comprehensive plan to strengthen vocational education and address skills gap.

Funding has now been allocated to successful applicants, with each school getting a $3000 grant to support them in running their own events. These events will target Year 7-13 students, their teachers and whanau, and will enable them to connect to, and explore vocational careers and pathways.

These events vary from each school, and can be a single event or a series of smaller events. For more information and to find out the events happening across New Zealand, go to the Education to Employment page.
