Prime Minister’s Vocational Excellence Award 2020: Nominations now open

The Ministry of Education is now accepting nominations for this year’s Prime Minister’s Vocational Excellence Award.

Launched in 2019, the Award seeks to celebrate the achievements of secondary students enrolled in vocational programmes, and to raise the status of vocational education. State or state-integrated secondary schools and wharekura will each be able to nominate one of their students enrolled in a vocational programme whom they consider most deserving to win the Award. Recipients receive a cash prize of $2,000 and an official certificate.

The nomination form, criteria schools and kura can use to assess potential nominees, and answers to frequently asked questions are available on the Prime Minister’s Vocational Excellence Award website(external link)

Nominations will close on 25 September 2020.
