NZ Institute of Skills and Technology is official

Vocational education marks another milestone with the official establishment of the New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology on 1 April 2020.

As the Education (Vocational Education and Training) Amendment Act takes effect, New Zealand’s existing 16 Institutes of Technology & Polytechnics (ITPs) are brought together into one organisation.

This organisation, with a working title of New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology (NZIST), will provide on campus, on-the-job, and online vocational education and training right across the country. Visit their website to find out more about NZIST.

The NZIST is one of the seven key changes in the Reform of Vocational Education (RoVE) to create a strong, unified, sustainable system for all vocational education that delivers the skills that learners, employers and communities need to thrive.
