Home Learning | Papa Kāinga TV continues for younger learners
Children aged 2 to 6 and their whānau can continue to enjoy programming on Home Learning | Papa Kāinga TV.
With most children and young people now back at school, programming for older children has come to an end. However, from Monday 15 June until 3 July programmes for younger children, including Karen’s House and Suzy Cato’s junior maths and science lessons, will screen on TVNZ 2 from 8.15am to 9am weekdays, and an hour later on TVNZ 2 +1 (Freeview channel 7 and Sky channel 502). You can stream live or watch anytime on TVNZ OnDemand(external link).
Home Learning | Papa Kāinga TV was set up as part of a package of supports to make sure that every child had access to at least one way of accessing the curriculum when they were unable to attend school or early learning centres as a result of COVID-19.
We now have an extensive bank of resources that teachers, kaiako and whānau can access for use with their learners at school or children at home. Televised lessons and programmes are available from TVNZ OnDemand(external link). Lesson plans and other resources are available from the Learning From Home(external link) website. We’re looking at ways to bring the two together and curating them in different ways so they are easily accessible.
