Review of Home-based Early Childhood Education
A review of home-based early childhood education is underway, to ensure that it delivers quality education and care for children.
The review will look at a range of areas which are known to support quality early learning, including investigating the introduction of qualification requirements for educators. The review will proceed alongside the development of the Early Learning Strategic Plan, with both being closely aligned.
The Ministry will develop a discussion document for consultation with the early learning sector and the wider public. Early learning services, parents, teachers and whānau will be asked for their feedback on the discussion document from July to August 2018.
