School transport services under Alert Level 1
Under Alert Level 1, school transport services are now back to normal.
Good hygiene practices are still a priority. Vehicles will continue to be cleaned regularly in accordance with Ministry of Health guidance.
No physical distancing is required on Ministry, regional council or Auckland Transport school bus or public transport services.
Accurate bus lists are still required. All schools should maintain up-to-date bus lists for Ministry contracted bus services to enable contact tracing to take place if required. Where a bus services more than one school, the ‘head school’ will hold the master list. Auckland Transport and regional councils will also be encouraging schools to maintain up-to-date passenger lists.
Fare collections may be reintroduced by councils and Auckland Transport, as confirmed by Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency. Families should refer to your regional council (or Auckland Transport) website for more information on the timing of this if it has not already begun in your area.
