Getting ready for broadband

How to get internet services to best suit your school’s needs, including ultra-fast broadband and N4L, the free, uncapped internet service tailored for schools. Read the processes, timelines and costs.

 The key steps are:

Connecting to fibre

We've completed the School Connection Project (SCP) and 97.7% of all state and state-integrated schools built before 2011 are now connected. Remaining schools have improved broadband using terrestrial wireless or satellite. Any fibre connection to a new or relocating school is arranged by the relevant build project. email network.upgrades@education.govt.nz if you have any queries.
