Marlborough Boys’ and Girls’ Colleges co-location – Options review complete

The Government has confirmed Marlborough Boys’ and Girls’ Colleges will be co-located on a site to be confirmed by the end of the year.

A suitable greenfield site on which to co-locate Marlborough Boys’ and Girls’ Colleges has been sought for a number of years.

Following a review of the business case options, it was decided to continue looking for a suitable greenfield site until the end of the year.  By that time, if no site has been secured, or close to being secured, the Colleges will co-locate on the combined Marlborough Girls’ College and Bohally Intermediate site. Bohally Intermediate will either be relocated to a greenfield site or to the current Marlborough Boys’ College site.

Cabinet approved this approach in early September.

Minister Hipkins’ announcement can be found on the Beehive website(external link)

Advice provided to Minister Hipkins on the outcome of the review and the associated paper approved by Cabinet are available below.
