The new school has flexible learning spaces throughout, which are made up of a range of spaces to support different teaching and learning styles.

They include open areas for collaborative learning and quiet spaces for independent learning, as well as technology, media, arts, resource and reading spaces.

It also has a library, a hall, and an administration building (office, staffroom, kitchen, staff work room and meeting rooms).

Pegasus Bay School was originally known as Waikuku School, but after the earthquakes, the school was rebuilt in the rapidly growing Pegasus township nearby.

In February 2017, we added 2 more learning communities. These each have 3 teaching spaces, and provide room for 180 more students, taking the total capacity to 600 students.

Pegasus Bay School is also a “zero net energy” school, which means it generates its own power through solar panels.
