Education Resourcing System information release

We are developing a new resourcing system that will calculate funding for Early Childhood Education, School Operational Grants, Staffing Entitlements, and Special Education. The current system that does this is more than 25 years old and will be replaced by 2020.

The new technology will be flexible and future-proofed, delivered under current government policy, with the capability to easily adapt to future policy changes. With the introduction of the Education Resourcing System (ERS), only the technology will change, not the funding that education providers receive.

The ERS will enable the automation and improvement of our funding process, better connecting the Ministry and the sector as well as reducing the time and costs associated with paper and manual processes.

The approved Implementation Business Case was the decision making document which gave the Ministry the green-light to proceed with developing the ERS.  The Implementation Business Case is located below for your information, along with the Education Report which includes key signatories.

For more information, you can visit the ERS page or email ERS.info@education.govt.nz.
